An Escapade to Remember at Sagana’s Mimosa Park

Image
An exquisite bush breakfast under the open skies on Sunday, August 17, 2025, unfurled like a vision from a glossy travel brochure. The cool air held the richness of dew-kissed grass, the aroma of freshly brewed tea curled upwards like a soft invitation, and the golden morning light flowed through the trees. Plates filled with hearty dishes passed around as laughter rang out, louder than the birdsong. For the Merians from Thika Greens, it was more than just a meal; it was a joyful bonding moment, where conversations flowed as freely as the tea, stories sparked endless laughter, and no one really wanted the morning to end. The adventure was far from over. With spirits high and hearts full, the company made its way from the rustic charm of the bush breakfast to the serene embrace of Mimosa Park for the day’s formal outing. The atmosphere shifted, carrying with it a sense of reverence and anticipation.  Beneath the canopy of swaying trees, Mr. Fabian Kaburu, the Chairman, opened the ...

NEW DAWN IN THE METHODIST CHURCH IN KENYA

Image
It is a new dawn to the Methodist Church in Kenya as they usher in a new Presiding Bishop. Bishop Isaiah Deye, the new Presiding Bishop, was elected in free and open elections held at the Methodist headquarters in Nairobi on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Bishop Deye, who hails from Kilifi County, is now the 7th Presiding Bishop, taking over from Bishop Ntombura whose term ended on August 4, 2022.  This comes as great news to all Tom, Dick and Harry in the Methodist Church in Kenya as the long fight to redeem the Methodist Church has finally yielded fruits. Bishop Deye who was acting as the Presiding Bishop, awaiting elections, has now been officially confirmed and will take office in January 2024. The entire body of believers in the Methodist Church in Kenya believes in the newly elected Presiding Bishop, Isaiah Deye, to steer and take the Methodist Church to greater heights with guidance from God. Bishop Isaiah Deye has worked as the Conference Secretary during the tenure of the former...

EXPOSED: ROGUE HOSPITALS!

Image
When illness knocks on your door, you must contend with the fact that sickness is not so courteous as to wait for your response; it simply hits you, sometimes hard, that your body is not what it normally feels like, and it certainly does not feel like your own. For more than a year, a major scandal has been brewing in the health sector, orchestrated by rogue businessmen seeking profits while posing as caring medical providers to innocent patients in need of genuine care. They are using the avenue for money minting. 'Doctors treat, but God heals,' is a phrase that has taken on an entirely fresh meaning as we see the rot in the very hospitals that are intended to be our main sources of hope from the agony we go through while seeking treatment.  Many patients find themselves between a draining sickness and a sick system since the government has not been paying National Health Insurance Fund, NHIF, monies to private facilities as the figures of unpaid monies stand at about 20 billi...

A 7.7 magnitude tremor struck the Pazarcik disctrict of Kahramanmaras province in Turkey which in about nine hours later, a 7.6 magnitude quake centered and affected several other provinces.  The earthquake was also felt in several countries in the region including Lebanon and Syria. At least 3,432 people have been confirmed dead whereas 21,103 are nursing injuries in 10 provinces of Turkey after the two strong earthquakes thrusted the southern part of  the country on Monday.  More than 8,000 people have been rescued.  More than 2,100 miners have been sent off to help in search and rescue efforts in the affected areas.  Disaster teams from North West Turkey rescued a six-month-old baby who was under the rubble for about 33 hours in quake-hit Hatay province. The rescue workers pulled out the 'poor' baby who was barely crying and appeared to be dirty but unscarred. The mother emerged shortly after, able to walk in Hatay province. Turkish President Recep Tayy...

DIVORCE, THE NEW NORM?

Image
The number of Kenyans seeking divorce has been alarming as it increases every year. This suggests an upheaval in families. Statistics from the courts covering 2013 to 2022 show that there is a rise in divorce cases arising from the character of the partners. As of 2022, the divorce and separation cases stood at 5,611 having increased from 2013 which was 1,194. In connection to this, the Kenyan Supreme Court ruled on Friday that married couples are not automatically entitled to equal shares of matrimonial property in case of divorce. This precedential ruling stated that upon divorce each spouse should leave their marriage with the wealth each individual acquored themself. The Supreme Court of Kenya has ruled that spouses are not authorized to share the matrimonial assests equally, 50/50, after divorce. The Courts further elaborated that distribution of property is solely based on what the individual has been bringing to the table. The Court also stated that while Article 45(3) of the Co...

A BURUDANI EXPERIENCE; EPIC SKY CYCLING AND MORE...HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

Image
Adventures are exciting especially when 'challenges' are involved; that is game challenges. I had the privilege and opportunity of kick-starting my New Year with amazing challenges at the  Burudani Adventure Park together with my lovely family. Having learnt and known of Burudani Adventure Park through a television show, we had to experience it live and get our 2023 starting on a high note. Burudani Adventure Park is so far the only place in Kenya that offers Sky Cycling. Located in the luxuriant Limuru, Burudani Adventure Park is your go-to place especially for one who loves adrenaline-inducing activities such as High Ropes, Zip-Lining, with the 'leading lady' being Sky Cycling.   Surrounded by a lot of tea plantations, the place gets quite cold and one is advised to carry a jacket with them. Ever heard of Sky Cycling? I used to see videos of people, on social media, sky cycling and it really looked interesting. With my phobia of heights, it never crossed my mind that ...
