An Escapade to Remember at Sagana’s Mimosa Park

Image
An exquisite bush breakfast under the open skies on Sunday, August 17, 2025, unfurled like a vision from a glossy travel brochure. The cool air held the richness of dew-kissed grass, the aroma of freshly brewed tea curled upwards like a soft invitation, and the golden morning light flowed through the trees. Plates filled with hearty dishes passed around as laughter rang out, louder than the birdsong. For the Merians from Thika Greens, it was more than just a meal; it was a joyful bonding moment, where conversations flowed as freely as the tea, stories sparked endless laughter, and no one really wanted the morning to end. The adventure was far from over. With spirits high and hearts full, the company made its way from the rustic charm of the bush breakfast to the serene embrace of Mimosa Park for the day’s formal outing. The atmosphere shifted, carrying with it a sense of reverence and anticipation.  Beneath the canopy of swaying trees, Mr. Fabian Kaburu, the Chairman, opened the ...

Navigating Kenya's Competence-Based Curriculum: A ROAD MAP FOR EDUCATIONAL REFORM (ARTICLE 3)

Image
In recent years, Kenya has undertaken a transformative journey in its education system through the adoption of the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC). This paradigm shift marks a departure from the traditional rote learning approach towards a more holistic system aimed at nurturing skills and competencies relevant to the 21st century. Let's delve into the essence of the Competence-Based Curriculum Framework in Kenya. Understanding the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) The Competence-Based Curriculum is designed to equip learners with practical skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for personal development, employment, and societal well-being. Unlike the previous system, which focused primarily on academic performance measured through examinations, the CBC emphasizes a learner-centered approach, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and innovation. Key Pillars of the CBC. 1. Competency-Based Assessment:  Assessment under the CBC is not solely based on exams but encompasses a...

VISIONARY 2030 GOVERNMENT?

Image
The Kenya vision 2030 was first initiated, in 2008, by President Mwai Kibaki during his regime, whose main vision was to transform Kenya into a rapidly industrializing middle-income nation. Have you as a citizen taken time to visualize how the Kenyan government would look like in the next probably 8 years?  With the present day youths, who are referred to as the 'leaders of tomorrow' holding onto those big seats and positions. With the upgraded technology and use of internet, will things be fully digital? That is just but food for thought. Kenya is currently in the hands of a new government led by His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto. First president with a PHD holder, a unique thing I'd say. He is a vivid example of how one can rise to the highest position despite of ones background. With the recent leaders, who were rightfully appointed by Kenyan citizens, a lot of chaotic scenarios are arising. Some of the leaders are being accused of nepotism just a few weeks a...

NEW CABINET?

Image
Following every president's entry in power, appointment of  cabinet secretaries is inevitable to suit a government tailored for the president and one that should see to it that the citizens are served as it should be, if not as per the president's manifesto. Following this, Kenya's now fifth President, Dr. William Samoei Ruto, has now appointed his cabinet secretaries, which consists of 22 members on Tuesday 27th September 2022 a fortnight after his inauguration. He had earlier held a meeting, on the same Tuesday he introduced his new cabinet, with the outgoing cabinet secretaries who were under the former President Uhuru's government. President Ruto named ANC party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, as the Prime Cabinet Secretary. With his position, Musalia Mudavadi happens to be the third most powerful government official after the president, William Ruto, and his deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua. Making Mudavadi's position clear to the public, President Ruto said that ...
