An Escapade to Remember at Sagana’s Mimosa Park

An exquisite bush breakfast under the open skies on Sunday, August 17, 2025, unfurled like a vision from a glossy travel brochure. The cool air held the richness of dew-kissed grass, the aroma of freshly brewed tea curled upwards like a soft invitation, and the golden morning light flowed through the trees. Plates filled with hearty dishes passed around as laughter rang out, louder than the birdsong. For the Merians from Thika Greens, it was more than just a meal; it was a joyful bonding moment, where conversations flowed as freely as the tea, stories sparked endless laughter, and no one really wanted the morning to end. The adventure was far from over. With spirits high and hearts full, the company made its way from the rustic charm of the bush breakfast to the serene embrace of Mimosa Park for the day’s formal outing. LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL FOR MWANGAZA?

The Meru Members of County Assembly (MCAs) have filed a motion to impeach Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza. This supremacy battle between Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza and the MCAs has reached boiling point as the impeachment motion has been drafted and signed by 68 of the 69 MCAs. A Meru MCA, who also doubles as the Minority Chief  Whip, has presented a petition before the Meru County Assembly seeking to have Governor Kawira Mwangaza impeached. The Abogeta West MCA, Dennis Kiogora, points to various grounds for impeaching the governor, saying that the governor has infringed the Leadership and Integrity act of Section 10 in the constitution. Kawira’s decision to appoint her husband Baichu Murega as the patron of the Meru Youth Service and ‘Hustlers’ ambassador is one of the grounds cited for her removal. THE AMERUCAN DILEMMA

With the saga that has been going on for weeks in Meru county after the MCAs ganged up against their governor who is a woman, many questions arise. The questions criss-crossing a lady, from another tribe, dating a Merian man are wild especially after witnessing all the saga that went down. "Is this the kind of ego I'm going to deal with?" Is one of the many questions in her mind. The lass dating the Merian man might be afraid that her partner's ego might over-power him and she might be the one facing it rough. For the first time in history, Meru is being led by a woman who is also a bishop. As Merians and anyone residing in Meru would say: 'Gavana ii mama.' (Governor is a woman.) This might have come as culture shock to the men in Meru as now the women are becoming the 'heads.' But the bigger question should be: "Will the men from Meru feel intimidated?"  Will other men from other tribes be willing to freely mingle and date Merian girls? Afte...

IS THE FIRST GENTLEMAN OF MERU COUNTY EXPERIENCING GENDER BASED VIOLENCE?

The first gentleman of  Meru County, Murega Baichu, spoke on Friday 28th October 2022 at the Milimani Court asking the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to clarify what boundaries he should not cross despite being the governor's husband.  This is after the Meru MCAs filed a petition to impeach Governor Kawira Mwangaza. Murega Baichu claimed how the Meru MCAs have forced him out of the official residence of the governor.  First gentleman Meru County, Murega Baichu. Governor Kawira's husband went on to add that he will be sleeping in their house rather than the official residence since he is not an official of the government, asking EACC to clarify if he should sleep there with his wife or not. He also asked for clarity from EACC if he should board the same motorcade as the governor as they go work or he should take a bodaboda. Putting on the whole Armor of God is important for any Christian that has given their lives to Christ and are following His teachings.  An armor is a garment made up of metallic pieces or other resistant material that are used to protect the body of the combatant. The armor of God represents the defense that Christians must take in their spiritual lives. As the Bible informs us, we (Christians) are at war with the devil, Satan, who wants to destroy the children of God. As Ephesians 6:10-18 tells us that for Christians to be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, they should be fully armed with the whole Armor of God.
