Meru County, nestled on the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya, has long been a region of vibrant political activity. Known for its diverse culture, rich agricultural lands, and strategic importance, Meru is now becoming equally known for its political drama. The past months have seen Meru being a hotbed of political intrigue, power play, and even an attempted ouster of its governor. But what is really happening in Meru, and why is it so significant? The Political Landscape of Meru Meru's politics have always been colorful, characterized by a mix of traditional leadership structures and modern political dynamics. Historically, the region has been governed by a blend of community elders, known as the Njuri Ncheke, and elected officials. This unique interplay has often created a delicate balance between respecting traditional governance and embracing the democratic process. However, in the past few years, this balance has been disrupted. The county has experienced rising political tension

YOU ARE THE PRIZE!

Life is about taking risks and being comfortable for being uncomfortable.

In the inspirational motivation, 'Manifest your Gifts' by Dr Myles Munroe, Steve Harvey and Denzel Washington, they inspire us not to give up on our dreams.

We are reminded that we must strive to achieve what God designed us to be. We have different talents which are hidden within us hence need to unlock the infinite possibilities in us in order to fulfill the purpose God created us for.

Always be ready to take chances in life, for it takes courage to achieve a dream. An opportunity knocks once therefore be alert to grasp it.

There are nine keys to success, Viz; understand your destiny, have a vision of your gift, believe you can fulfill your gift, live by the laws that protect your gift, have a plan, have the right people around you, persistence-handle the pressure to achieve your gift, persevere and finally pray over your gift every day.

Fear of failure freezes people, while the best thing in life is on the other side of fear.

From ‘Manifest your Gifts’ I agree that we should feed our gifts and give them time to develop. We should go through the process and persist on the pressure for it tests how strong we are.

We should not try to fulfill our gifts without seeking guidance from God who gives us wisdom to go through our daily activities.

I agree that the problem with our education system today does not encourage nurturing talents instead it emphasizes too much on grades attained. The fact is that any Education system should be more of nurturing dreams, skills and talents than just glorifying the grades which encourages rote learning. This has made most people to dream small, think small, expect small, and not try to do anything too big out of the norm. Despite having the education and ‘papers’ one still treks for long looking for a job hence ends up picking any job that comes his/her way despite the qualifications. We therefore need to break away from the traditions and reprogram our minds as poise for greatness.

I believe and agree that I was born to come up with innovations that would help make a difference in my generation. Education is not a guarantee to success, but your gift is the key to success for it is something that God has instilled in everyone hence need to nurture it.

Therefore education should prepare a holistic learner. Education is very important in life and hence everyone should have access to the same.

The ability to accomplish your vision is manifested when you say YES to your dream. You should discover your dream to discover your ability. We have the God-given gift of imagination to keep us from focusing only on our present conditions.

We should be patient with our dreams. Just like a seed is required to be planted, watered, and taken well care of for it to germinate and be a fruit. It is never an easy journey, but always a worthy one.

Make room for our gifts everyday and speak highly of them and ourselves too. This makes it easier for us to achieve because we already have a positive attitude and the gifts will eventually make room for us once it starts to yield results.

We need to also learn our circles. As the famous proverb says, ‘Show me your friends and I will tell you who you are.’ People are always gift killers because we are living in a culture that does not want you to manifest your gift. Always wanting to see you down. Once you manifest your gift, everyone wants to be your friend because they want to eat into your gift.

Always remember that: you came to planet Earth with your future inside you. Go for it with determination and keeping your eyes on the prize.

As Walt Disney said, 'All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.'
